Origins: Coastal Distillery Private Limited obtained a license for blending and bottling IMFL in Puducherry in 1982 and is now operating at Sedarapet Industrial Estate, Puducherry.
Capacity Growth:By 2019, the production capacity had risen to 1937k cases per year, reflecting continuous growth and expansion.
Name Evolution: The unit underwent several name changes, transitioning from Coastal Distillery to McDowell & Company Ltd, then to United Spirits Limited, and eventually to Balaji Enterprises (Pondy) Pvt. Ltd. in 2017, marking its journey and evolution.

Enhanced Capacity: In 2020, groundwater extraction capacity will increase to 60k litres per day, ensuring operational efficiency and resource utilization.
New Facilities: : Inaugurated a Blending and Bottling Hall building, an IMFL warehouse hall, and an administrative office building, enhancing operational capabilities and efficiency.
Product Range: In 2022-2023, the unit produced and dispatched 88 brands and 276 SKUs, demonstrating a diverse and extensive product portfolio.

2020-2021: Started supplying GEPL brands to Para military forces in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, expanding market reach and partnerships.
2021-2022: Commenced overseas export of GEPL brands to Middle East countries, followed by the commissioning of a Reverse Osmosis (RO) water treatment plant, emphasizing international growth and sustainability.
2022-2023: Initiated production of 180-ml Tetra Pak for Pondicherry, alongside the launch of Grayson's own brands, showcasing innovation and market diversification.
2023-2024: Secured approvals from CSD Pan India and TASMAC for the supply of premium brands to their depots, further strengthening its market presence and distribution channels.
